Just posted a Rainbow Trout Stained Glass panel to Etsy

Just posted my recent stained glass creation on Etsy. It is of a rainbow trout leaping for a real trout fly I soldered in place. I love this piece - the glass I found for the trout is just perfect!

All in all, it took over 10 hours of work to complete this piece. A lot of the curves took extra time. David, the resident fishing expert, is really thrilled at how the trout came out too and he generously donated one of his trout flies for the piece!

Here is a photo of my recent work for sale on Etsy. I love this piece - it is one of my favorites so far. I plan on using a simplified version of this design for a lamp in our living room to match a set of antique chairs we are currently restoring.

Taking the plunge...

Hi!

My name is Sarah, and I am the artist behind the Nouvelle Stained Glass Studio. I have decided to take the plunge and start to blog about my stained glass projects and other crafting escapades I embark on (and drag my ever patient boyfriend and resident heavy lifter with me).

Creating a piece of stained glass artwork is a time consuming and multistep process so I thought it might be interesting to write about. You can check out my work available for sale at http://nouvelleglass.etsy.com/.

Right now, I am almost finished with a stained glass panel I am really excited about. It is of a rainbow trout leaping for a fly. I hope to get it posted to Etsy this weekend. Just the soldering and finishing to go!

Thanks for reading!
